Informativa privacy
Tommaso Corda, Bentu e Mare, Alghero (SS).
A chi comunichiamo i dati
Trasferimenti fuori dall'Unione europea
I tuoi diritti

Privacy notice
This notice explains which personal data we collect when you use bentuemare.com and when you stay with us, why we collect it, who we share it with and how long we keep it, under EU Regulation 2016/679 ("GDPR") and the Italian Data Protection Code (Legislative Decree 196/2003).
Data controller
Tommaso Corda, Bentu e Mare, Alghero (SS), Italy. Email: info.bentuemare@gmail.com · Phone: +39 333 694 0515. You can use these contact details for any question about your data and to exercise your rights.
Which data we process and why
Booking data — first and last name, email, phone, dates, number and ages of guests, arrival time, notes and any extra services chosen. We use them to handle your request and booking, payments and communications about the stay (legal basis: performance of the contract and pre-contractual steps you asked for, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and to meet our tax and accounting obligations (legal obligation, Art. 6(1)(c)). First name, last name and email are needed to book; phone, arrival time and notes are optional.
Guests' ID data — collected through the online registration form before arrival or on arrival. They are used exclusively for the mandatory report of guests to the police (Art. 109 TULPS, Alloggiati Web portal), for regional tourism statistics and for the tourist tax (legal basis: legal obligation, Art. 6(1)(c)). Without these data we cannot host you. The online form is built with Google Apps Script: the data you enter are recorded in a Google sheet, from which we import them into our management system.
Payments — card payments are handled by Stripe Payments Europe Ltd, which processes card data as an independent controller under its own privacy policy: we never see the card number and only receive the outcome and a payment identifier. If you pay by bank transfer, our bank gives us the payer's details; if we owe you a refund by bank transfer, we ask you for the IBAN to send it to.
Email and messages — automatic emails (confirmations, reminders, notices about the stay) are sent through Resend Inc., which processes your address on our behalf. A copy of every email sent is kept in our records, so that we can see what we wrote to you. Messages you send us reach our Gmail mailbox (Google) or, if you write to us there, WhatsApp, which process them under their own terms. The new-booking alerts we receive may also go through Telegram.
Waiting list — if you ask to be told when dates become free, we keep your email, name (if you give it), dates, number of guests, language and the IP address of the request, to send you a single notice (legal basis: your request, Art. 6(1)(b)). The request is deleted automatically once the requested arrival date has passed.
Reviews — if you leave a review, after reading it we publish on the website the rating, the text, your first name with the initial of your last name and the month of your stay (legal basis: consent, Art. 6(1)(a)). The review can be seen by anyone visiting the website, including search engines; you can ask us to remove it at any time.
Technical data and security — the website is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc., which processes your IP address and connection data to run the service and protect it from abuse. We record the IP address a booking or a waiting-list request comes from, to prevent abuse and fraud. When enabled, the booking form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, a check that tells people from automated programs by analysing some technical data of the browser (legal basis: legitimate interest in the security of the website, Art. 6(1)(f)).
Visit statistics — when enabled, we collect them with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies, does not follow you on other websites and only shows us aggregated data: pages viewed, referring website, country and device type (legal basis: legitimate interest in understanding how the website is used).
Map — the map on the home page is provided by OpenStreetMap: when it loads, your browser connects to the servers of the OpenStreetMap Foundation (United Kingdom), which receive your IP address.
Cookies and data in your browser — the website uses no profiling or advertising cookies. In your browser we only store the language you chose and, for the length of the visit, whether you have already seen the opening animation: these are technical data that need no consent. Stripe's payment page uses its own technical cookies.
Who we share data with
Your data are processed by us and by the providers that help us run the website and the bookings, acting as processors on our behalf: Cloudflare (hosting, security, statistics), Turso/ChiselStrike Inc. (database, with servers in Europe), Resend (email), Google (mailbox and registration form). Stripe and our bank process payment data as independent controllers. We disclose data to the police and public bodies for legal obligations (guest reporting, statistics, tourist tax) and to our accountant for tax obligations. The calendar we share with Booking.com and Airbnb only contains the booked dates, with no names. No data is sold or used for advertising.
Transfers outside the European Union
Some providers (for example Cloudflare, Resend, Google and Stripe) are based in, or have servers in, the United States or other countries outside the European Union. In those cases the transfer relies on an adequacy decision of the European Commission (for the United States the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, for providers that have joined it; for the United Kingdom the decision covering it) or on the standard contractual clauses approved by the Commission (Arts. 45 and 46 GDPR).
How long we keep data
Bookings and requests, with the related payments and communications: 10 years, for tax obligations and to protect ourselves in case of disputes.
Text of the emails sent: 2 years; after that only a record of the sending remains (date, recipient, subject).
ID data: for the period required by public-security rules, then deleted.
Waiting list: until the requested arrival date. Reviews: as long as they stay published. Cloudflare technical data: for the short periods set by the provider.
Your rights
You may at any time ask us for access to your data, rectification, erasure (where it does not conflict with a legal obligation), restriction of processing and portability, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interest. If you gave us your consent, for example to publish a review, you can withdraw it whenever you want, without affecting what was done before. Write to info.bentuemare@gmail.com or call +39 333 694 0515: we reply within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (garanteprivacy.it).
We do no profiling and take no decisions about you based solely on automated processing.
